Another crafty hobby ....

 

I have started another craft ...

Just to do in my spare time , at least once a week .

 

I have been collecting "Project Life " goodies for the last few months so I good start in 2014 ...

 

The bits and bobs for project life are so gorgeous and hard to resist too ... But like all good crafting it's good too have a stash :))

 

I have never been a scrapbooker and this looked like a great way to document our lives :)

A start....

I have made a start on my reading challenge with my first reread- Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult . I was trying to work out when I read it the first time and my guess is about 11 years ago .

11 years ago I only had 2 kids who were 3 and 2 and I had lots more time to read :)) 

Now hubby and I have expanded to  7 babies and 4 fur babies my reading time may be less but my heart is fuller ( not full though... always room for more )

Note that my copy is very well loved I lent all my Jodi Picoult books out lots as too hate the love .

I'm a little disappointed that I only read 22 books this year but also wonder when I got time to read 22 whole books :)) 

19 of these books were on my Kindle which surprises me as I questioned the need for a Kindle because I didn't think I would like it as much as a real book. I do like it , its light to hold and its so easy to keep buying books for it .

I don't usually set myself many challenges in the reading department but for 2014 I'm going too..... My goals are to read at least 30 books - 10 of which need to be real hard copies . Also would like to read at least 3 books that I have read previously and loved :)))
Hopefully they are achievable and hell if their not I will have fun trying !!!!

Xmas over for another year

Another Xmas done and dusted the next will be here before we know it .....

I finished Charli's quilt just in time to wrap it up on Chrissy morning ... She loved it :)))

Now 5 weeks of relaxation till we all have to go back to school..... My plan is get some sewing done , read a few books that I have on my Kindle , entertain darling children and complete the two subjects I'm studying externally( sucker for punishment !!) 

I hope everyone had a lovely Xmas and I wish all my bloggy friends the most amazing 2014 !!!

New babies !!!!

Bathurst's local duck park "Machattie Park" is now home to 3 tiny Cygnets .... 

These baby swans are just so cute and fluffy . We went for a little look yesterday and everyone fell in love .

Bathurst Bloggers Meet 2013

On Friday and Saturday I had the pleasure of enjoying a sewing night /day with lots of lovely ladies :))

 

         I got to have some downtime with Peg and Dale outside Home Patch

We had some dinks, nibblies and pizza at Julias on Friday night and it was just so relaxing and lovely . Thanks Julia for opening your house for all us rowdy sewers .

 

Saturday we started bright and early at Fabric and Trim followed by a trip to the Home Patch . I managed to add to my stash at both shops with some lovely fabric and wool.

 

Next we went down to the Crago Mill for a yummy lunch what a treasure trove that turned out too be , such lovely antiques . Will defiantly be saving some dollars and going back :)

Just Gorgeous

Sandy gave me this card for my birthday ... It is the most prettiest card .

It's very inspirational too one day ( in the next 10 years ) I plan on trying to make a quilt just like it probably paper pieces ;)

So for now I will just collect colourful scraps and stash them away !!'

On a quick trip to Spotlight today I found this little cutie ....

Sewing Space

YAY I have a sewing space again .... We have moved a few things around brought a baby gate and moved my fabric , kits and WIPS into their new home 

The top photo is my precuts , block of the months and kits ( in the pink boxes ) 

The bottom photo is my WIPs and my collection of Project Life stuff which I'm going to start next year.

There is also lots more fabric that I sorted and folded and put away last night .... I really don't need to buy any more fabric or kits for a very long time .

I must say it has left me feeling really inspired and can't wait to start sewing !!!

Sunday morning

I have decided that the cleaning can wait till this afternoon ....

This is my Chelsea Charm quilt which eventually will be for my bed ... Thankyou Susan for the pattern :)))

The fabric is Metropolitan Fair and I have super sized it from 16 blocks to 49....

Really I'm Alive

Sorry for the absence in blog land for the last six months .... Studying full time has taken up all my spare time .

There has been very little sewing in this time which is a big downfall but finally last week we got to have a sewing day with my lovely sewing friends :))) 

These days really kindle my passion for crafting and I can't wait to have more time again next year to sew :))

I worked on the hand stitching for my little Xmas wall hanging in the hope that I will have it finished for Xmas this year !!!

I started a new Block of the Month this weekend ... Tillies Lane by Anni Downs .

I loved a little bit of hand stitching to make my dragonfly and a little bit of machine sewing to make my little pile of blocks .
