Reading 2009

Just finished "Comfort Food" by Kate Jacobs. Was a nice Chick Lit book. I Have previously read another of her books "The Friday Night KNitting Club" which i really liked.

School Holidays

OH how i love school hoidays, This week we are swimming every morning because the kids have swimming lessons. Its nice to come home and not have to go anywhere if i dont want too.
Being a bit crafty and yesterday planned how im going to make my nieces birthday quilt. Sewed up some of another dolls quilt. Mended a few things that i kept putting off.
So this years challenge is to teach myself to crochet, nothing fancy i just want to be able to make blankets for the kids. I also have a blanket my great grandmother crotcheted a long long time ago and its pretty much falling apart but holds so much. I love it and LOVE YOU and MISS YOU heaps Nanna Kennedy!!!!

Fluffy Mail

My order from "Country Pickins At the Corner" arrived yesterday and gee it felt just like christmas. I got a lot of fabric from the "Heart to Heart" range and i just love it. It will eventually be a quilt for my niece Charli for her birthday..... hopefully this year lol. I also got 2 Melly and Me patterns which are so darn cute

Finished Shaggy Quilt

I finally have finished Lil's Shaggy edge quilt. I just finished finished snipping it and am about to put it into the wash to get them edges shaggy. It took me a while but im really happy with it !!!

Camping DEC 08

We went camping for a couple of nights to "Dunn's Swamp" it is in the Wollemi National Park and is a lovely spot. Lots of swimming and bush walking done. Camping really is such hard work but lots of fun. The swamp which is really just a dam is lovely and no speedboats allowed which makes it better for people like us who just like to swim and fish

Noahs 5th Birthday

On the 2nd on January Noah turned 5 !!!!! He has had a lot of fun riding his big boy bike! Cant believe how quickly it has gone.

Garden 20/12/2008

Today i planted some corn, cherry tomato, squash &black zucchini.

Happy 8th Birthday Sienna

Sienna was born at 1.34 pm on 20th December 2008 at home after a very quick labour and birth. Here is a picture of her today with her new guinea pig Allie. Sienna is our little animal lover we often call her "Bindi". Today we added to our animal farm with two new guinea pigs and two chooks.

Dancing Concert 2008

Last week Sienna performed in her dancing concert. For Ballet they performed Mickey Mouse and for jazz they did Hannah Montana.

She was Great and had a fun day with all her dancing friends

Garden 1 Week on

Thought it would be nice to document how much the garden grows...this week we planted some celery and yellow zucchini... lost a few of the other plants but mostly good

Chooky Chooky

J has wanted to get chooks for ages and finally we brought a chook house from eBay. So its all built waiting for some chooks , but we aren't getting till after Xmas. Kids are very excited about the new addition to the menagerie

Busy Busy Busy

Gee life is just so full on at this time of year, Sienna has dancing rehearsal this afternoon and then the concert tomorrow which they are performing twice..Phew quite a lot for a nearly eight year old in one weekend.

Noahs quilt

After making the girls a doll quilt Noah requested a quilt for his bears, early on i realised he would probably use it more for himself so i made it a little bigger and backed it with polar fleece. He loves it. I used a tutorial from http://snippetsofaquilter.blogspot.com/2007/10/charm-square-quilt.html . Super easy and quick.

Vege Garden

This year we decided to move our vege garden because it was getting way too much sun where it was . So J got more dirt on Friday and yesterday we planted some Tomatoes, Cucumber, Lettuce, Squash, Pumpkin seeds and capsicum seeds that i had saved. Also want to get some corn and maybe onions. (oops pictures in wrong order)

Lily turned 3 yesterday gee that went quick. She had a lovely day

and got lots of nice things !!!!!

Busy Busy

We have been super busy here as usual. Lily had a grommet put in her left ear yesterday and her adenoids removed. Poor little poppet didn't cope too well. Shes OK today just a little drained..... she has to rest up for Sunday when she turns three

Doll quilt

Here is Sienna with her new dolls quilt that i whipped up today. I still need to quilt around each square but have run out of white cotton. I saw the pattern in the new "Patchwork and Stitching" magazine using charm squares. I already had some charm squares that i had brought from Runaway quiltbook and they were perfect for a dolly quilt

WIP- Shaggy edged Quilt

So here it is... finally all cut out and ready to sew. It took a little while to work out which colours looked best together and i decided to keep it all in order not crazy colours everywhere as the pattern suggested

Reading....

I always have a few books on the go, at the moment i am reading Multiple Blessings. I am really liking this book. I already love there show Jon and Kate plus 8!!!! I have read a lot of criticism of them on the web, but i think they do a great job and there kids are so darn cute.

Also reading "The Valley " by Di Morrissey and " He'll Be Ok" by Celia Lashlie.
