Busy Busy Busy

So who would have thought that with 7 kids in the house my sewing time would become non existent .... Lucky I love kids :)
We welcomed a new little 6 month old baby 2 weeks ago and he is delightful !!!
So for the moment I am grabbing 5 minute snippets of sewing when I can and enjoying the baby snuggles before he grows up .

A good Omen

Last night I finished sewing the binding down on our baby boys quilt .

I'm hoping now it's finished he will magically appear if Docs decide he will go somewhere else it will be a gift for him from his big sister :)

The fabric was Hippity Hop Hop and was leftovers from my nephew Cadens quilt I made a couple of years ago

Quiet Saturday Night

What to do when the hubby is having a coronary whilst watching his beloved Tigers play footy and kiddies sleeping....

I Decided it was time to try and catch up on some of my BOMs , so spent a lovely evening appliqueing a Noah's block and a little Maccas farm block.

I have a lot of appliqued blocks that need there hand stitching done ... One day soon !!!!

Tis the life .....

The life of a foster carer and quilter .... A maybe baby that will definitely need a special quilt of his own .

Block 1 done ,11 to go hopefully before/ if he arrives here.

Because if he does come I'm sure my sewing time will be a lot less :) But lots of baby cuddles will make up for that :)

If he doesn't end up coming the bonus will be a gorgeous baby boy quilt waiting for someone special!!!!

Books!!!

The last few weeks have seen me reading more than sewing ... It's funny I never find time to do both well so usually gravitate towards one.
I have never wanted an e reader but this year have read a few books on my iPhone out of convenience... Way to easy to go to the iBooks store and download books in seconds :)

The past few days I have been reading Bloom by Kelle Hampton . A memoir from a very talented writer, photographer and mother about the shock of her daughter having down syndrome . It is a beautiful book with gorgeous pictures a story that in parts made me cry but mostly smile . I loved it and highly recommend it !!!!

Star light Star Bright

Not much sewing has been happening here the last couple of weeks :(
I have been feeling very uninspired and have been reading more than seeing in my spare time.....

But last night inspiration struck and I started a new project ..... So now I have a 6 pointed star and maybe many more one day .

I have seen a few English paper pieces Star quilts in blog land and hopefully mine will be just as pretty!!!

Miss Lily's quilt

I finished this one off a while ago but Lil put it straight on her bed and then I forgot .

It really is a special feeling when I'm making beds to have a quilt I made on all the kids beds .... Even our new little miss has one in her cot :)

Back to this quilt it's made from a layer cake of Ruby and some white homespun and added some Ruby yardage as borders to make it a bit bigger. Such a simple pattern that I think comes out great!!!
