Since we went to QLD back in September for our family holiday we hadnt done anything these holidays, so we decided to go camping for a couple of nights.
The kids had a ball and spent most of the time in the water..... its an awesome spot. Its along The Bridle Track which is a very crappy road but worth it.
We didnt have much luck fishing only got 1 carp and 5 turtles.

Reading 2010!!!

I have been reading some great "reading blogs" of late and they have me inspired.
I think I'm going to aim for 50 books in 2010. But I'm also going to aim to reread some of my favourite books again so about every 5Th book. A few titles that come to mind for a reread are
*The harp in the South * Looking for Allibrandi and * The Pact.
I have hundreds of books here that i loved so shouldn't have any problems . I also might challenge myself to read a few classics in there somewhere , but i will see how i go.

Sienna's 9th Birthday

Well way back on the 20th of December , my big girl turned 9. We had an awesome sleepover the night before with some lovely friends. My girl is very crafty and got plenty of crafty stuff and lots of Beados which she loves :).

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

I started this book yesterday afternoon and will finish it later today. I havent been drawn in to a book like this for what seems like ages. It really has made me think a lot about WW11, i must have slept through most of modern history at school because i dont remember learning all that much.
On the front cover it says " When was the last time you read a book that made you feel really good?" It is so true, i highly reccommend this lovely lovely book.

More Birthday Goodness !!!

Way back in May just before Mothers Day there was so many books that i had seen that i wanted to buy...... Instead of me buying them my mum layby'ed them for my birthday arent i lucky. So 6 books from mum and Lawrence, 2 from DH and 1 from Robyn my MIL and i think im set to go.

1 Down 99 to go

Woohoo i have finally made a complete pie for my Pies and tarts BOM. It is a very time consuming project but have spent many hours in front of the tv making pie pieces and tiny tart pieces. So now i have 99 pies, 81 tarts, 36 1/2 tarts and 4 1/4 tarts to go. If only i could find a way to read and sew at the same time lol.

Break out!!!!

I just finished reading Breakout- How i escaped the Exclusive Brethren by David Tchappat. It was such an interesting book. I am always interested as to different customs and beliefs in different religions, but especially the brethren as we live next door to one of there churches ( not sure if they call them churches????)

The author really has done so well after leaving his family and life at aged 19 to pretty much start again out in a world that he had been kept away from his whole life.

Hard day playing Playdoh

Lily loves to play play-doh but she was just too tired on Sunday afternoon. It would be great if she didn't have a day sleep anymore but she obviously still needs it . Next year she will go to pre-school two full days , they still have a rest there in the afternoon but gee she going to be one tired little girl at 3pm.

Reading October 09

I have a huge amount of books in my to be read pile and i happen to know that I'm getting 6 more for my birthday from my mummy and stepfather and probably a couple from my hubby.
So today i go to the library and get a couple more books lol....
I'm going to try and read 5 a month.......
Octobers books are

*Mao's Last Dancer - Li Cunxin
*We Don't Live Here Anymore- Matt Nable (Library)-Finished 13/10
*The 19Th Wife- David Ebershoff(Library)
*The Valley- Di Morrissey
* Stolen Innocence- Elissa Wall
Sorry about the bad photo my camera doesnt want to play today.

Her Mothers Thighs- Dara Chadwick

This book is really helpful, with a daughter aged nearly 9 I really want her to be comfortable and happy in her own skin. I realise that she may not be,I'm sure there will be issues. Its a little scary to think i have children old enough to be pre-pubescent.

Build a bear

While we were on holidays on the Gold Coast we took the kids to Build-A-Bear workshop store. The kids had a ball choosing a bear , stuffing it and then picking clothes for it. It turned out to be a very expensive trip lol. We HAD to buy clothes , shoes, pjs, underwear & mobile phones for each bear. You could buy just about anything for them. They are just so cute though and are carried around all the time so worth every cent.

Wool Technique Class

Yesterday i took a wool technique class at The Home Patch. We worked with woven felted wool and its just lovely. I m off to buy some more beads to finish it off today, I'm planning on it becoming a pin cushion. I think i will try and make a couple more and make them into glasses cases for Christmas presents . Michelle (our teacher) warned us that it could become addictive and she sure is right.
