Parcel Day

I had a bit of a spending spree last week.....eek!!!!

Sienna is a very crafty girl, she kept borrowing the "Patterns and Borders" stencil book from the library so we had a bit of a search around and found it at Five Mile Press along with another pattern stencil book.

The two Block of the months i signed up for last week arrived too, Down in the Garden and Life is beautiful. Cant wait to start these.

Finally i am a big fan of Jon + Kate Plus 8 or Kate + 8 as it is called now, so am excited to now have Kate's newest book.

BOM Addiction

I really love Block of the months :) I was already signed up for Pies and tarts and Pennsylvania Dutch and then i seen Life is Beautiful That Peg from Happy in Quilting is stitching and i fell in love.
I managed to put it off till this week but then i caved and rang up and ordered it.

Similar story i seen Down in the Garden over at Maree's Farmyard Crafts and loved it also....... so i signed up :)

But the addiction isn't complete yet there are 3 that i love at Fat quarter shop,Tiny Town which i am definitely getting, Paris in the fall and Prairie women's sewing circle which are gorgeous too.

So i have less time to sew than ever but nothing wrong with stockpiling is there ???
DH doesn't understand the concept lol.

Foster Care

We recently were approved as Foster Parents :) It took us a little over 12 Months from lodging our application to our approval.
We have had a 13 month old baby girl for the past three weeks and a 5 year old boy for the last week. So life has been busy in our house with 6 Kids, never is there a dull moment :) Already i feel that it is one of the best things i have ever done, having kids myself of course coming first but fostering definitely second.
I hope its the start of a long time of fostering :)

Grandmothers Flower Garden

Well My may to do list is pretty much "untouched" so of course i started something new. I love hexagons and have been looking at all the Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilts on Flickr and i just had to make one of my own.
I decided to use 1 inch hexagons and all different pinks for the flowers , so have been collecting some pretty pink fabrics. Im not sure how big it will be.... I would like it to be a single bed size ( in about 10 years :)) Im thinking 5 flowers wide x 10 flowers long , i will see how i go !!!

Sienna's Strip Quilt

This is quilt is made using a "Berry Delicious" Jelly Roll and white muslin, backing is some yardage from the same range I love all the colours in this quilt, so bright. So suited to my big girl who has a love for all and every fruit.
The weather has turned cold again so i have enjoyed keeping warm under this quilt while i sewed the binding on.

New Family Additions

In the last couple of weeks our animal family has grown (again).
First of all on Easter Thursday we got our pound puppy "Cooma" , he is a 5 month old Staffy and such a gorgeous dog .He kept digging out of the yard of the place he lived before and they got sick of it and told the pound to keep him....so sad. He hasnt tried to dig anywhere here but he does get loads of love and attention

Then today J came home with two more chooks to add to the brood. I wanted Isa Browns to add to the mix. Im looking forward to getting 4 eggs a day.

So now the count is 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 Guinea Pigs and 4 chooks :)

Gardeners journal Block G

I have finished the first block in the Stitch-a-long. Seeing everyone Else's finished work has kept me motivated and so inspired. I have avoided french knots in the past but i was brave and practised and now most of mine are passable..Yay.

Easter 2010

Here are the kids in there new pyjamas Nan and Pa got them for easter. We have had a fairly quiet relaxing day. We went visiting the family this morning, came home and watched "Titanic". The kids hadnt seen it before and they really liked it, it was still heartbreaking for me :(. Had beautiful baked lamb cooked in the slow cooker for dinner and now sitting down watching "Domestic Blitz" our new favourite family show to watch together

Pie and Tarts

Finally Block one is complete, it was a mammoth job but was lots of fun....Nine more to go :)

Back to School 2010

I am a bit late with this post, whoops. So this year i sent off three of my babies to school. Noah started his first year - Kindergarten, Sienna in year 4 and Bailey in year 5. Noah is loving Kinder and hasn't had an issue at all, not sending him until he was 6 really paid off. He loves being with his older brother and sister .Lily now goes to preschool 2 days a week , which leaves me to do a bit more sewing & reading and socialising without an energetic 4 year old .

The Pipers Son- Melina Marchetta

Another great book from Melina Marchetta. I think i have been reliving my youth a bit of late, teenage fiction is really interesting me. Back in the day when i was in high school "Looking for Alibrandi" was my favourite book.I must have read it at least 10 times over the years. The Piper's on got me in just as much, the story of Tom Mackee is a great one.
